Into the Weeds~ What a saying.

Truth in words. And as you know the name of my blog.

People ask...why this name?

Well, because ending up in the Weeds was exactly how life has gone for me.

A career unplanned, yet spanning 44 years plus...

Into the Weeds.

Because running a business will absolutely cause you to head into the ditch and end up there...more than you plan.

Into the Weeds.

Because life, in general, will send you there ~ no matter how many times you try to stay on the paved road.

Into the Weeds.

And because, quite simply, my job has always literally required me to be standing in them.

Walking through them. Every day.

A construction field not yet cleared and balanced.

A backyard garden filled with overgrown plants.

Into the Weeds.

Truthfully speaking, I have been standing or walking in the weeds more often than not throughout my life.

And that's ok.

Because each time I end up there... it's an opportunity.

An opportunity ~

To clean things up.

To start a new project.

To walk down a new path ~ or just straighten the one I'm on and build something better to navigate.

To design and build a new stunning garden space for others. Creating joy and improving the natural environment.

Each time I have been in the weeds ~ whether by design or happenstance...

I learn.

I grow.

I find new unexpected pathways.

I may come out a little dirtier than when I went in...

but nothing a little soap and water won't fix.

Into the weeds has meant I have lived ~ and I am still living.

And I find myself grateful for each and every journey into them... even if I didn't know it or appreciate it at the time.

Into the Weeds. Because for me, that's where life happens.

So here's to many more decades...

of me heading into the weeds.
